Despite the fix being in for Dale’s then-current girlfriend, there was no winner in the Mrs. McCarty Pageant (although, in a sense, all the girls entered should consider themselves winners by virtue of… uh… not actually having won). In the end, the only contestant who ended up moving in with Dale was the cardboard cutout who wore the bikini in the swimsuit competition.
As the evening wore on, it became apparent that no winner would be announced. And so, with no live musical entertainment for the second straight year, it came as no surprise when the drunks stormed the stage and took over the microphones. Those of you not in attendance missed a… unique rendition of “American Pie.” And for that, you should be very thankful indeed!
