McCarty Party 1992: Parrot for President

Wasting Away Again in McCartyville

Jimmy Buffett provided the flavor for this year’s party, as parrot heads descended on McCarty Estates by the score. Disgusted with the available choices, McCarty Party put forth its own candidate for the presidency in ’92. Huey the Parrot made an unprecedented fourth appearance in a McCarty Party logo as our man (er… bird) for the nineties. Although he garnered an overwhelming 97% of the beer-drinking vote, he failed to gain enough support to put him in the oval office. Outspoken as ever, he cost himself votes (and ultimately the election) by pissing off the old killjoys.

Jim Merrick joined the regular cast of crazies and set the mood for the afternoon by performing two sets of Buffett tunes.  The evening saw him leave the party early for a paying gig (he swears that it will never happen again)! On the down side… oh who the hell are we kidding, there was no down side to the party. The weather was here, and all of the young ladies were beautiful (as far as we remember)!
