1985 Theme Song:
Despite our best efforts, Club Mac (also known as McCarty Party ’85) continued to include beer and most of the people we knew. The logo saw the return of the soon-to-be-legend martini glass and the introduction of Huey the Parrot, an engaging little sot who would turn up again some years later. Although the logo was conceived by the Brothers McCarty, this was the first time we went to someone with actual talent to render our idea as art (as far as you know).
As this was the last college era party thrown by the McCarty Brothers (and because we had enough money and got a pretty good deal), it featured the first and only appearance of a live band… to that point. And finally, McCarty Party ’85 saw the addition of what would become an annual event-within-an-event, the McCarty Party Golf Classic (which, let’s face it, was a pretty impressive name for what was basically a chance to drive golf carts while intoxicated).
