McCarty Party 1995: McCardi Gras

The On-ramp to the Intoxication Super Highway

The McCardi Gras logo was strangely prophetic, as only about 95 people showed up. Rain drives the faithful under cover for the first time in the checkered history of the party, and the tap on the beer truck freezes up. As a result, a tremendous quantity of beer is consumed from cans and bottles (you can’t keep a good drunk down).

When Jim Merrick’s drummer gets the boot, one of our guests gamely fills in on percussion using Dale’s old snare drum (left over from his misspent high school daze!). On the plus side, the invitation for ’95 generated controversy and cries of sexism (but hey, it sure took you all a helluva long time to see through our gentlemanly facade).
